Introduction

A daily (for now) journal of Shaw’s adventures in the Lands Between; as originally published in the annals of the Ubicurious Karaoke Club chat. AKA, the chronicles of daily Elden Ring play sessions, as told from the perspective of middle-aged man who is terrible at games, but decided to try their hand at a FromSoftware title. For fun!

Cast of Characters (in order of Appearance)

  • Shaw

    A brave maidenless Tarnished, exploring the Lands Between with no memory of her former life or how she got here.

  • Sir Mix-a-Lot (née Torrent)

    A spectral steed summoned with the help of a magic ring. Has a fondness for headbutting things. Would like to try an apple one day.

  • The 3 Amigos

    3 lone wolves that can be summoned using spirit ashes; Shaw gave them unique names:

    1. Throatripper
      The tall one. Enjoys smooth jazz, walks on the beach, and ripping throats out.
    2. Terrifier
      The other tall one. Is terrified of heights and not living up to expectations.
    3. Todd
      The other, other tall one. Once mistook a boulder for a member of a the K-pop band BTS.
  • The Karaoke Chorus
    A group of former/current Tarnished who will comment or occasionally advise Shaw on her journey. This section may change over time, as new voices join the chorus, and as we learn more about our existing members.
    • Bronwen the Bold
      A fierce, determined warrior, who in all likelihood motivated Shaw’s introduction to the lands between, while also providing invaluable advice early on.
    • Philippe the Wise
      A constant advisor throughout Shaw’s quest, he has a no-nonsense approach to in-game guidance.
    • William the Milquetoast
      His name is a misnomer, as he mostly revels in witty barbs and general tomfoolery.
    • Thibault the Pot Head
      His singular piece of armour is an old cooking pot he wears on his head. Has a lot of opinions about things.
    • Dallas the Daring
      Providing additional motivation in Shaw’s second week, encouraging her to fully brave dungeons and other hazards.
  • The Roaming Giants Academy
    A group of former Tarnished who once fought alongside Shaw during the six legendary rainbow sieges.
    • Laurie the Lambent
      An enigmatic warrior. Not much is know about her, but she provided some valuable advice and encouragement.
  • Alistair J. Haverford III

    A giant floating jellyfish that can be summoned using spirit ashes. The middle initial is for Julian, not jellyfish, a common misconception. Descended from a long line of aristocratic floating jellies. Enjoys floating, glowing, high tea, and being a general nuisance to most bosses.
