Shaw woke up this morning to the reality that she had already spent over 12 hours in the Lands Between and had not completed a single quest. That would change today. She had a vague remembrance of some dude named Kenneth Branagh (or something like that) who needed his Fort cleaned out. She would go see him to be sure; would he still be standing atop a structural arch overlooking a road, without food, shelter, or companionship? Yes. Yes he would.

Turns out Kenneth wanted his fort cleared, not cleaned, no matter, she would do it. The details of what happened next are rather hazy, or the author can’t be arsed, pick one. Eventually, the fort was cleared. Here is Shaw with her last wolf left standing, Terrifier.

She then went back to Kenneth to collect her reward (a dagger, meh) and pledge allegiance. Before proceeding with this questline, they both posed for a selfie.

He told her he would make her a knight. “Awesome,” she thought to herself without a shred of irony. In the end, it turned out that Kenneth no longer had the power to knight her because of monkeys or a fort in disrepair or some such bullshit excuse.

Heading back to Castle Morne for a second round of mediation (see Post #19 for details on the first round) Shaw was hoping for a quick compromise that would satisfy Humans and Misbegotten alike. Unfortunately, when she entered the courtyard, she observed that human corpses still hung from the ramparts, gently swaying in the cool ocean breeze, as the assembled Misbegotton enthusiastically chanted atop a rather large mound of burning soldiers.

“I should have brought more blood rose tea,” she thought, “looks like it’s going to be a long night.” Well in fact, it was a rather short night, as negotiations rapidly broke down, and Shaw proceeded to kill everyone in sight. She then went into the castle proper, and killed a whole lot more. “I suppose they are upset about their lack of a contract,” she mused, as she hacked, slashed, and bashed the ugly bastards into the stone walls.

After an exhausting journey, and several welcomed sites of grace, she stood before a sickly yellow mist wall. Beyond this wall waited a rather irate-looking fellow, who immediately ran at her with a huge sword. She had found the union boss. Normally, in a similar situation, Shaw would give up and call it a night, but she was waiting for pizza and it would just be easier to get this done with now. She tried once, twice, and a third time. The Leonine Misbegotten was slain. A PSN trophy was earned. Shaw decided to sit.

Having recovered from the emotions of beating her first real boss, Shaw posed for one last triumphant picture, at the foot of Castle Morne.

Also, some guy named Edgar, thanked her for protecting a sword, but also his daughter Irina was murdered on the side of a road while waiting for him because he was sitting in a chair doing nothing. It was sad for them, but not for Shaw. She had beaten a boss. What a great day!
