In today’s update, our intrepid adventurer Shaw goes looking for the Ring of Oath. Will she find her annular prize or will she meet her untimely demise? Keep reading to find out! And who knows, there just might be a twist or two along the way! But probably not. Anyhoo.
First order of business, Shaw needed to have a cozy fireside chat with the blue puppet in her pocket.
One thing Shaw absolutely loved was getting sassed by a damn puppet. Side note: not showing the puppet sitting across from Shaw during these conversations has knocked this game down from 10/10 to a mere 9/10. Yes, I am serious about puppets. End of side note. In any event, whilst these chats were quite lovely, they did not really clarify what Shaw was supposed to do next. Perhaps this mysterious giant lady would have some answers?
Perhaps not. In fact, Shaw could not find any way to safely make her way down into the ravine to speak to this tall lady. She was so striking looking, it was difficult to believe Shaw had never come across a reference to this noblewoman, somewhere, while researching the Lands Between. Screw the tall lady, it was time to look it up on YouTube. Cut to several scenes later, where we find our intrepid Tarnished, unlocking a chest and receiving the sought after quest item.
Dark Moon Ring? Shaw thought she was looking for the Ring of Oath? Well, this had to be the one, it’s what she saw in the YouTube videos. Side note: there is more missing footage her. Turns out just having the ring in her pocket, made the white locked mist wall disappear off screen, so when Shaw returned to the cave, she spent an embarrassingly long time looking for this wall; only to eventually realize it was already gone. The roughly 20 or so messages left by other players and leading in a specific direction should have been a clue. End of side note. Once she oriented herself, Shaw ended up on this beautiful hilltop, bathed in the glow of azure moonbeams.
Nothing special to write here, just an alternate shot of Shaw posing in the exact same spot, but here’s the twist, now she’s facing towards the camera.
Oh, look, now she’s riding Sir Mix-a-Lot. Side note: this was after fighting a dragon that dropped something like 120k runes. End of side note.
That structure you see in the top left of the above screenshot? That place had a hole in the middle, leading to an underground cavern. In this dark place, Shaw made an even darker discovery; a very dead looking Ranni.
The question was, why was she sitting at the foot of a pair of fingers, that were cleaved in half and dripping with blood?
The obvious answer was for a rather sad and solemn looking Shaw to slide the recently acquired ring onto one of Ranni’s lifeless fingers.
Oh no. Ranni vanished. Perhaps she had finally found some peace? No, wait, she came back, and she was positively glowing!
“Welcome back Ranni! You gave me quite a fright!” exclaimed Shaw. Her exuberance was short-lived however: “What do you mean, become thy lord?” Had Shaw accidentally proposed to Ranni?
